Happy Birthday Peyton!!

Can't believe our baby is now four!! Wow. We had a really great party for her today at the house. Of course our theme was ladybugs and butterflies. We even had a "bug hunt", which included magnifying glasses for all the kiddies and lots of plastic bugs to be found (thanks to Auntie Niques for the great idea!). Jensens made the cake and it was fabulous!! Very tasty and just gorgeous! And, Travis got the swing set together just in time for the party.

Today I took mom and dad to the Daffodil Garden in Running Springs. This is the private home of a couple, who open their garden to the general public for 3 weeks every year. They have a beautiful garden of daffodils! They will be closing the garden next year in 2009. Here is a link if you're interested.

Peyton met the Easter Bunny in Crestline today, and then we went to the village for the petting zoo experience. She wasn't too keen on the goats, so grandma had to hold her. Liked the turtles though (they don't move, lol).

Trav's Auntie Susan and her boyfiend Dennis were down in Palm Springs for vacation so they came up for a visit. Of course, we had snow that day! Go figure. Hopefully, the last dump of snow for this winter. We took them to the village and had a great time.

Well, today was Peyton's first ballet class (thanks Gigi for the idea!). For the first 10 mins I wasn't really sure if she was going to like it or not. Then, she seemed to "get it" and joined right in. Her teacher is Ms. Giselle, a very nice lady. Peyton can't wait for next week's class. No travel news on baby Reese yet, we're still waiting:(

IT'S A GIRL!!!!

It is with great joy that we announce the referral of our second
China cutie!!

Here are the stats:

Name: Guo Yuan (Guo - Surname, Yuan - beauty)
Soon to be: Reese Noelle Yuan Wood
DOB: November 13th, 2006 (she's 14 months)
Birth Place: Beiliu City Welfare Institute, Guangxi (right above Vietnam - a Southern Chinese cutie this time)

As many of you know we are in our agency's "Waiting Child" program, where the children referred have a range of special needs. Reese's special need is an unrepaired Cleft lip/palate.

It is a very common and completely repairable birth condition. We will keep you all informed as she begins the repair process. Meanwhile, come and enjoy our beautiful baby girl!

Some updated photos of the house progressing - still needs trim/moldings for the cabinets, but they're getting there.
